Sustainability + Innovation, Lulu Garments’ New R&D Journey

Under the trend of “green transformation” and “functional upgrading” in the fashion industry, Lulu Garments takes the 40-person R&D team as the core, promoting product innovation from 2 directions:
1. Sustainable R&D: Create Environmentally Friendly Apparel
  • Material innovation: Develop blended fabrics of organic cotton and recycled polyester fiber, which reduce carbon emissions by 30% compared with traditional fabrics while maintaining softness and wear resistance;
  • Production consumption reduction: Adopt waterless printing and dyeing technology to reduce water waste, and the leftover materials generated during production can be recycled (e.g., making storage bags);
  • Industry certification: Has obtained OEKO-TEX® (ecological textiles) and GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certifications, and products meet international environmental protection requirements.
2. Functional and Design Innovation: Meet Market Needs
  • Functional fabric development: For sports scenarios, develop breathable, sweat-wicking and antibacterial sports hoodie fabrics; for daily scenarios, launch wrinkle-resistant and easy-to-care commuter polo shirt fabrics;
  • Cultural adaptation design: Provide customized designs for categories such as hijabs and robes, respecting cultural habits in different regions (e.g., adjusting the drape of hijabs and the version of robes);
  • Trend prediction: Release apparel fashion trend reports every quarter, and provide “trend + practical” design suggestions combined with customers’ brand positioning.
